Editing is my chosen profession, but reading is my personal passion. How lucky am I that one feeds the other? Being widely read allows me to look at a manuscript through the lenses of both editor and reader. Reviewing (and beta reading) engages different thought processes than simply reading and sets the stage for my coaching, developmental, and line editing work. 

Do I write a review for every book I read? No way! Call me selfish but that would take up too much of my free reading time. For my personal reviews, if a book sparks a strong response in me (good or bad), I typically will share my thoughts. I'm also a professional reader and write reviews for Reedsy Discovery, Netgalley, and BookSirens. My personal reading reviews can be found on Goodreads.
